Yes, GP, I was just looking at the images and trying to figure out the location, it is definitely not attached to Dubai Mall, and not in the location I thought either, so it's right in the centre of Downtown then? I can't believe they are building an extension to Dubai Mall, unbelievable.

The opera house is actually the large building under construction on the other side of the lake/park! Maybe it's something to do with the construction of the Dubai Mall extension which is being built at the moment? That would make more sense.

I think the Opera District is totally separate to Dubai Mall, i.e. on the opposite side of the road on DIFC side. Need to check it out again though.

polly, what do you mean about the Opera house going where the More Cafe used to be? are we talking about the same location? in thebasement opposite Pottery Barn? Yep that"s the very spot! Apparently - or so I was told by someone who works on the project. It will come out of that side of Dubai Mall - heading outwards towards the fountains http://www.dubaiopera.com

Dubai Mall one is closed also, went there the other day and it's gone. The company must have gone out of business. it didn't close down in Dubai Mall, it was closed down by Mall management as this is where the new Opera House is going. <em>edited by pollydxb1 on 24/03/2015</em>
