Any ideas? Would like to turn the landing into a family room but I'm scared with the sofa there it's too dangerous near the bannister railings. (It's the only option for the sofa position) any ideas which are not too ugly or expensive ? I was thinking maybe plexiglass ? Any suggestions plsssss :)

This might work for the landing banister area (similar to balcony) http://www.shismoo.com/make-your-balcony-safe/ This company looks good. Has anyone tried them?

They have a plexiglass shield option as well as unbreakable glass option. Thanks to the poster that provided all the links as I was looking for baby-proofing information as well.
