Hello! I have purchased 5 digital clocks in this country over the years and all of them have to constantly be reset because they are fast. I bought one from the Home Center several years ago and it is not fast but I have not seen it there since. Does anyone have a digital clock that is not fast? If so, where did you get it from?

Just to add my 20 quid clock from John Lewis is still showing the right time  That's good to know that it is still showing the correct time.

Sure, they are not made here, but could it be that the digital clocks destined for the UAE are the rejects of other countries with higher electronic standards? My car clock is one of the only ones I can rely on. The Al Fajr digital clocks are good but they are not glow-in-the-dark. edited by AnonDubai on 04/04/2015 How funny !! My car clock is the only one that gains ! (currently 6 minutes) lol

The Home Center is currently selling a digital clock that isn't fast, a rare find in the UAE! It is for 59 dirhams. I am going to buy a few. They have gone years without selling any digital clocks so I was pleased to find them for sale there this past week.

So interesting - so there has been no time change at all with this one GE? Was there a difference in price/make/country of origin with the one which works? No the one which always gained was a John Lewis own brand one and more expensive. I'm just hoping that this one doesn't go the same way.

My new 20 quid alarm clock from John Lewis is great  No more getting up early 'cause we've forgotten that the clock is 20 minutes fast.

How annoying! I have only ever had this problem in this country. Me too! I thought it was just my faulty clock - so glad you have said this. It gets faster and faster and has been running almost an hour ahead of time. I threw it away and got a new one for Christmas from Santa in the UK! And so far so good

But even if they were all sold here, they are not [i'>made[/i'> here, so you couldn't say it was a quality thing. They are all likely to be made in China anyway! And electricity wouldn't affect car clocks! how odd!!!

All our clocks run fast too and they were fine in the UK. I've also noticed that the clock in the car gains, though not by as much as the house ones. Interesting! So do you think that it is something about the electricity in this country? There's obviously something triggering this, but I haven't really thought about it. Although there are a lot more pylons around here.

I don't think it's due to the magnetism. Although I am usually a staunch defender of shopping in this country, I think that almost all the digital clocks sold here are of low quality. I have noticed songs running slower on the radio occasionally.

This is soooo strange, how could it happen?! Is it something to do with magnetism?? How odd! Has anyone ever noticed that songs seem to run slower or faster too, on the radio?

Thanks for the info. I imagine that those digital clocks are more expensive than your average ones but definitely worth it. I will head to Virgin soon.

We have had luck with a Sony clock radio from Virgin, every other clock in our house runs fast as well and it drives me bonkers.
