At last! I have asked every time I have visited various clinics/pharmacies if this is possible as I have quite high strength medication I don't (Thank God!) use any more.... Thank you for this information.

The Dubai Health Authority have enabled a number of pharmacies to collect expired or unused medication for safe disposal. The participating pharmacies are found in the Dubai Health Authority primary healthcare centers and hospitals. You can find out which center serves your neighborood at: https://www.dha.gov.ae/en/Facilities/HealthCenters/Pages/default.aspx I cleaned my medicine cabinet recently and went to the Al Barsha Health Center to dispose of the expired medication. It was very easy, it took only 3 minutes and they only asked for my phone number and name. No waiting, no complicated forms, no need to present the prescription. Do make use of this new service. Medication can cause serious environmental and health issues when thrown in the general trash or flushed down the toilet.
