thanks all ... it's sorted... supposedly the Samsung S5 screen is an expensive one to replace... nearly all the places (even the dodgy places in satwa and deira) were charging a minimum of 450 for the screen whereas for iphone they are only charging 200dhs... thankfully the phone is under warranty so i have sent it to the Carrefour after sales centre to see what they can do... supposedly if they cant fix it i'm entitled to a refund... let's see how that goes... they said it will take a minimum of two weeks... in the meantime i bought myself an htc cell phone for 399/-! what a downgrade!

dropped my Samsung S5 and in spite of having a screen protector and phone cover the screen is now all grainy... phone is still working though coz i can still hear the whatsapp and sms pings but the actual screen is blank! anyone know of any trusted phone specialists in satwa etc that would be able to fix it back up? i feel so lost without my phone there is a place in al barsha just opposite to lulu supermarket and they have done my screen with the cheapest price comparing to others. I have paid only 200dhs for full iphone screen change while the others were asking 450-475dhs

Have you called the Samsung repair centre in Deira? They are not as expensive as you think, considering they are the agent. Are you sure it is the screen and not just a cell/crystal that needs replacing? They repaired my daughters phone when she dropped it (phone worked but nothing showing in screen ) for AED200, but that was an S4 mini.

sigghhh... i've called up so many places... cheapest quote I've got so far to replace the LCD is 599dhs at a Minutes showroom... all the other places like cellmetro etc. are charging closer to 1000dhs! :-( somebody pls find me a cheaper deal in satwa/deira My colleague has a Samsung Note and she paid 600 in Satwa, She got a discount from 750 That is the going rate as LCD screens arent cheap to replace. sighhhh now i'm in a dilemma as to whether to just fix it at that price or buy myself a new phone :-( :-( :-( Would like to add that these replacement satwa screens are not as strong as the original ones. Original ones survive many falls...replacement ones.. One fall and it's gone. So make your decision accordingly.

I would pay the 600 as if you buy a new one and drop it again!
