I am moving over in January from Ireland. My son is in Holy Communion class here in Ireland and should be making it in May 2016. He is eight. Does anyone know if he can make it over in AD next year like he should be doing? Any one gone through this?

Any advice/help greatly appreciated.

OP, there's a St. Joseph Cathedral in Abu Dhabi. No worries about first communion although I do remember you need to attend catechism classes (two years!) before receiving first communion. Inquire about how you can lessen this especially if you child has already prepared for it in Ireland.

Hi there I am sure your son will be able to make first communion. There is a catholic church in ABu dhabi with a huge congregation. When you register him got catechism let them know that he has attended first communion back home and that you would like him to continue. Have a look at the link below. Hope this helps http://www.stjosephsabudhabi.org/mass-schedule/
