Jebel Ali ' dog beach' ... Can you still go there?

The beach I am referring to is the beach not far from the entrance from the Jebel Ali Resort and at the base of the Palm construction. You used to be able to take your dogs there but had heard recently this was no longer possible.
Appreciate it if someone could let me know as had hoped to take my dog there tomorrow.
