good on email or not - the best thing to do is check them out in person. we seriously visited around 20 nurseries before we picked one - we went to many highly rated, highly decorated/awarded nurseries that got rave reviews and were absolutely APPALLED by the state of things. chaos, confusion, poor teaching quality. fancy facilities does not a good nursery make. we enrolled our LO in the only one we personally felt comfortable with. even though its like a 35 minute drive from my house, i decided my peace of mind and comfort (and that of my LO) was most important. no matter what people say (or don't say) your opinion and gut feeling is most important. go with that.
