At what age can children go without an adult to watch a movie at the cinema (movie that's aloud for the age)?

I did that when my kids were 12 but i used to enter w them and seat them then meet them out when the film finishes but i think i am too overprotecting i think.of course i was in the same mall where the film is . Thanks that what I booked for now, me a few rows behind.

I think in this day and age that isn't being overprotective. It's called being a good Mum I grew up in the relatively safe 70s and wasn't allowed into town on my own until I was 15 ?
