For peace of mind I'd recommend a pet relocator. We used Pet Express for our 2 dogs and 2 cats when we moved back to NZ. Linda was wonderful. Heaps cheaper than everyone else and there were zero issues with the strict NZ import regulations.

Hi Valentina. We have been in Dubai a couple of months and we used Dubai Kennels and Cattery who sort out all the paperwork for you and let you know everything you need to move your animals to Dubai. I would highly recommend them. It is not a cheap process but using DKC took a lot of the stress out of it.

You could try a specialist in Dubai like the Dog House, and they can probably do most of this for you, for a fee. I shipped a dog once to the UK, and he was delivered door to door. They booked the flights and handled everything.

Thank you summer breeze! Your post is really helpful! Might I ask you when and where one pays for the different fees (inspection fees and import fees)? Can it only be done at the government vet office near DXB terminal 2.I'm asking this because our dog will fly in our plane, rhat means we'll arrive all together. It would have been great if we paid all online.... It's all done online! You will need to register first, then apply for import permit. Here's the link to start the process, which also contains what you need: http://www.moccae.gov.ae/en/our-services/animal-wealth/permits/import-permit-pets.aspx The import permit (500aed per dog) you will need to get no more than 28 days before flight.i would suggest getting it 2 weeks before you plan to fly just in case you have to change flight. You will need to have scanned copies of a few documents (can't T remember exactly but maybe your passport, pet passport). You pay with credit card. The permit will then be available online within a few hours I think. Once you have all the other documents from your vet you then go back online and upload. You then pay the 1000 online as well. It's not as clear where to do this, so you just need to poke around a bit! Email the gov vets if you are stuck! When you arrive you will need a couple of hundred Aed for handling fees and customs. Cash is best for this part. These are paid at the offices in cargo village (near terminal 2) at the same buildings where you will go to the government vet and where you will pick up your dog. The government vets are really helpful. It takes just over an hour from landing to being able to put your pet in your car! Although, if you are arriving on the same flight you will obviously be a bit longer, but rest assured your furbaby will be well looked after in cargo village!

http://www.moew.gov.ae/assets/5064985a/pet-import-permit-dogs-and-cats.aspx This is a link to current requirements for importing pets to UAE. You can submit all paperwork online so when you get to the airport for pickup you just need to supply bill of lading, pay handling fees at dnata office, pay customs fee (all in the same building as government vet office near DXB terminal 2) and then pick up the dog.

Hi Valentina, I'm struggling to get some imformation too we'll move to Dubai and Doda is part of our family so see below what I found out  Here a website That could be interesting: http://www.pettravel.com/immigration/unitedarabemirates.cfm I found out that: the dog needs anti rabies (less than 1 year old), he must have had an anti parasites treatment (even if I do not understand how they check that), He must be microchipped You must have a good health certificate from your local vet prior departure (max 3 weeks I think but to be sure I'll do it the week prior our departure) You must have an immigration permit (to do online) Depending on the country of origin you may need a blood titer test Concerning our dog we contacted Emirates and they asked for the dog's breed, weight, dimension, cage , microchip number and vaccination certificate. I hope this was helpful!

Hi girls, I'm just trying to understand how to move my doggy in Dubai; I found out that: - he can fly only Etihad on board in the cage -we need to go and pick him up by car because taxis and buses don't allow even small pets Do you know if is enough the anti rabies vaccination or we need titration of antibodies? Thank you! Toby is part of our family.....
