Hello Ladies :)

So I have a very severe case of nasal allergy and it is affecting me in a very negative way. My ear hurts, my throat is always sore because I have contentiously post nasal drip going on, it is causing me plenty of sinus problems and polyps that I had to undergo a surgery last summer, bad breath because of the constantly accumulated mucus in my throat which also makes me feel I want to throw up... I tried everything went to many ENT doctors and an allergy specialist who prescribed me a nasal spray and another pill before bed time and still nothing works.
I was browsing the internet and read about immunotherapy and was thinking about asking my allergy doctor about it but I need some reviews and if anyone knows a price range how much it costs here in Dubai?

Hello to all, Being an allergic person myself, I struggled to understand what is / are my allergens....did food intolerance tests, did the AC cleaning, all the mattress/blankets/mites solution, humidifier etc...but to no avail.... I was then referred to a clinic in JLT and my journey with them was quite different from the other consultations I have been through.. Intensive assessment from all aspects of my life! Then the treatment protocol was designed...I am happy to say that using integrative approach is something different than most conventional doctors are doing. Combination of chemical approach (if needed) and the complementary way has been more effective than just covering up all the symptoms and not addressing the root cause of the allergy reaction. (that was the explanation given to me why I never achieved complete recovery using my previous treatments) Maybe you will all benefit too, so just give it a try. Their website is www.holisticaremed.com. The staff are very helpful and professional. I am happy to have been there :) All the best of health and wish you all easy and fast recovery :)

Hi there, Did you in the meantime find a good specialist and also what is the name of the organic product? Did it work for allergic rhinitis? I am back working in an office and my allergies are back 100%, so I also need help. I am guessing that for me it's the cold and dry air that is causing these allergies.

Hi there! You might want to try the organic product that i've been taking. Before i was also an allergic rhinitis sufferer, waking up sneezing, teary-eyed and having a runny nose. I tried 1 bottle of it then from the on i haven't had any rhinitis attack. It might help you also :)

I second the view on getting the AC cleaned (filter+coil), get them to check the drainage pipe and tray for blockages and mould, etc...also get the AC ducts cleaned. These helped us hugely as well! We get our AC cleaned twice a year plus bought dehumidifier machines with HEPA filters for every room, made an enormous difference to how we feel indoors!

I had to comment to this post as I have been struggling with allergies for a period of 3 dreadful years while I was in Dubai and in my case it was entirely related to the office I worked at as it started exactly when I started working in that particular building. By that time I had been in Dubai for 4 years and never had that issue before. I still don't know what exactly it was but I am guessing it was their AC's as they were not maintained properly and I believe the building was moldy. There is something called "sick building syndrome" apparently. I have seen any possible allergy specialist in Dubai, tried Immune therapy and at the end what helped me the most was to change my office and the allergy literally disappeared after a while. I must say that I have been working from home the past year with much less AC and now that my new job requires me to work from an office again I am kind of dreading to go back but I suppose not every indoor place has these sort of allergens that cause these symptoms as AC's should be cleaned regurlarly. I am not sure if in your case it could be anything similar but if so, I have used "Healthy Home" for mattress and carpet cleaning for both the office and our home. Also during that time when the allergies were severe I have bought a Sharp Plasma Cluster devise which has helped a lot to clean the air. Dr. Mueller, the ENT had recommended the devise and generally he had been very helpful and I can definitely recommend him. I hope you get better soon!

Coincidentally I was thinking of trying something else for allergies as well and came across the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at the Innovative Healing Systems clinic at Dubai Healthcare City. I nearly dropped dead from their prices though. A session costs AED1,200! They offer a package deal as well. It is not Immunotherapy but I have read a lot of good stuff on forums about it being helpful with allergies as it provides more oxygen than available at atmospheric pressure. One thing that cost me nothing and has made a tremendous change as in it helped make my asthma vanish, was to cut all dairy products of all animal sources. Dairy creates mucus which made my asthma so much worse, got prescribed steroids etc, nothing helped solve the problem, only masked the issue at core. But quitting dairy cured me. Honestly. If it happened to someone else I am not sure I would believe it but it happened to me for free. Might be worth a shot. If I accidentally eat dairy now, my throat starts having mucus literally 20mins after consumption, my nose starts running..etc...I do not have an allergy to dairy or lactose intolerance, I was tested. It just simply makes me feel drab and creates breathing issues. Hope it helps.
