Poor lane discipline, not maintaining safe distances and changing lanes without indicating are all greater dangers than speeding 5 kph over the official speeding limit (while maintaining a proper braking distance) .... A person doing 81 kph on Hessa Street when its empty is flashed , but a person doing 70 kph on the 3rd lane from the left on SZR when traffic flow is 100 kph, is not flashed and is supposedly a safe driver ...

Am happy this has been introduced....since am called a old granny like driver, driving a mammoth car but not speeding! As long as all these reduce manic driving and speeding am happy....always worry about driving with my kids...

Very beneficial, people drive like lunatics here. Wish the fines were higher with licenses taken away earlier and more difficult to regain. Never been flashed as I know how to drive well, very simple.

Hi all, it was announced in the news this week that certain roads have began to implement their changed speed limits. Roads like Umm Suqeim now only allow up to 100km/h as opposed to the 110km/h many of us are used to. Plus, there's been 500 new 'friendly' mobile radars implemented on Dubai's roads... We'd love to hear your thoughts on them. Do you think they're beneficial? Will it help? Have you been flashed by one yet?
