Husband needs to cancel work visa from old job to start with new company in AD. Is taking old company to court, Ministry of Labour told him he'd now be ok to work here for another company, he just needs to cancel visa. When he went to MoL to do it they then said they can't do it as it needs to be done in court.

Needless to say he's getting different advice wherever he goes, some wanting a lot of money because they know he's keen to get things sorted. He's getting understandably frustrated as may end up having to return to UK.

Has anyone had a similar experience? And how did you get it sorted?

Thanks

Unfortunately if the court case is pending, I think he's going to be stuck until that's resolved. Ideally, he needed to cancel the visa etc before starting court proceedings.

To my knowledge, employee can not cancel visa themselves. Cancellation process requires Authorized signatory e-signature card, without which the request can't even be submitted. This is done by authorized person from the company.

Thanks It depends if there is a case open at the MOL but you should be able to open a complaint against the company. Failing that its the court option as there are 2 sides to every story
