In open nose reshaping surgery a careful incision is made across the columella- the column which separates the nostrils. The cartilage and tissue underneath are exposed by lifting back the excess skin. It has a tendency to leave a slight scar. Although it fades away quickly in most patients.
where as in closed nose reshaping surgery is performed by making incision inside the nose . It has an edge over other technique as it doesn’t leave behind any visible scarring. It is however limited to straightforward rhinoplasty procedure. If you require any other meticulous work, it won’t be ideal for this technique.
