The camel chocolates are quite expensive at the airport, especially for 20 women! They were at least 50AED for a small camel shaped chocolate. I would be going towards the pashmina's for 10- 15 AED each, and it's something they can keep forever. Some women would rather not have chocolate as diets etc.

They were given pashminas last time!

I love the Shiekh-Sheikha Salt Pepper Cellars and Spoon Holders. You can get them from a shop that's just opposite Al Mussalla tower. They go for just AED 10.

The thing I have been given - which is most useful is a hook which hangs off the side of the table, and you can hang your handbag on the other end. Allows you to keep an eye on your bag and off the floor! The bit which sits on the table as images of Dubai on them! So useful. HTH

www.toffeeprincess.com

My DH loves this flavour. Flavour of the month this month is Cherry and Almond. I haven't a chance to taste it yet as I missed the JPS fair yesterday.

I think she will be at ARTE at Times Square next Friday - but you can contact her through her website.

There's a stand in Mall of the Emirates, first floor, roughly near the carpet places.

ETA it's called Al Nassma. You can also buy online http://www.al-nasma.com/

Went to Safa park today (flea market) and I heard this man yelling- "wooden camel family, only 5 dhs" He had a box full of that, 4 in each pkt.
If thats cheesy..maybe pashmina would be a better choice.
Good luck :o)

How about those carpet drink mats - they come in packs of 4 so she would need to get 5 packs for 25 people, you can get cheap ones in Karama but the nice quality ones are in Borders - and if you have the discount voucher from the Gulf News books they would be cheaper?

Saw small tins of turkish delight at the back of Candylite in Mirdiff City Centre Mall yesterday-attractively packaged-16dhs a tin I think-can't recall if they are made locally but worth a look if you are nearby-otherwise you can get pashminas in the market fo 9- 10dhs-less if you buy bulk lots

Depending on what she wants to spend.......there's a shop called Persepolis on the main street through Karama market which has loads of small souvenir type things and the older guy in there is quite a character.

Otherwise.....camel milk choc @25dhs, pashminas @20dhs upwards, dates, Gallery One prints........

My mom wants to take some type of souvenir from dubai back to a class of ladies (50's and 60's) that she teaches. Can anyone think of anything nice/interesting, but inexpensive. Staying away from things like keychains, etc. Had thought about maybe small boxes of dates or something? hum.....

anyone ????

TIA
