Okay SM, I spoke to a few friends and this is the list I came up with.
Tehran (beach road) Shahrzad (old Hyatt) Shabestan (radisson SAS deira) Iran zamin (marina) Anar (madinat)
The list is in no particular order, other than Tehran which I personally think is number 1.
Update us if you go. X

Shahrzad was fab in the 90s! Haven't been there lately.

Ladies,
I am not Iranian but I do speak Farsi and cook Persian food... The best receipies I have found were from this woman Najmieh Batmanglij
http://www.najmiehskitchen.com/
The spices (advieh) are amazing and transform any food. Iranian food is not blend...the look of it makes your mouth water edited by DubaiGirl11 on 17/02/2012

These look great, but the recipes are in Arabic! Anyone know if these are available in English. I would say that the Iranians probably make the best rice in the world. the cuisine is fabulous! And I agree about Danial in Mazaya. All their salads have been dressed with bottled lemon juice- the one that contains preservatives-so there is a strong under taste.
I have an Iranian friend who makes the most amazing rice- I think they make it for weddings-it contains barberries, orange peel, pistachios and I don't know what else- but is incredible visually and the taste is out of this world. Well done to all the Iranians out there!

I thought Hatam was awful, but the Iranian club lunch was very good, particularly the stews like Fesenjan. The kababs were ok and the salad choices were very good.

My DH's favorite food is Iranian and he agrees that it is tough to find good Iranian food here in Dubai. I don't know why, though, since there are so many Iranians here.

Danial dubai- bad. Danial sharjah - better Sadaf dubai - fine Sadaf Sharjah - awesome! I have forgotten the names of many but Sadaf Sharjah is the winner hands down! I think Sadaf in Sharjah is where a friend of mine took me for dinner. If it's the same place it was the best food I had in five years there.

If you don't have headscarf, they can give you one at the gates to the club

We used to eat at one in DC all the time back in the day. Sadaf a bit mediocre compared to Tehran. Try Tehran first you won't go anywhere else.
