Tara, I am looking out for a used SUV - can you tell me what car you are selling? You can email me details on ayda two four seven at hotmail dot com.
Hi Tara, do you have a loan outstanding on the vehicle? If so you will need to get a settlement figure from your bank (which could include early repayment fees) and then pay off the loan in full. Once this is done, the bank will issue a certificate saying the vehicle is debt free. Then you simply get the cash from your buyer, take them and your certificate to the RTA near to the gold and diamond park and transfer the ownership to your buyer. Not sure if there are any admin fees involved but if there are it is not a lot. Also bear in mind that you will need to pay off any traffic fines before the ownership can be changed. It's a fairly simple process as long as you are not transferring the car between Emirates.
If there is no finance on the vehicle it is all straight forward, find a buyer, both go to the RTA and transfer ownership. Take all necessary documents with you (car reg. document, your passport, etc.) and there are fees involved. If we have reduced the price for the buyer we have asked him to pay the fees, or at least half. If he is paying by cheque make sure it has cleared in the bank before doing the transfer. If there is finance involved, that is a different matter, but if you do a search on here you will find a lot of information about selling a car privately which should answer any questions you have.
Hi all,We need to sell our 6 month old vehicle.Does anyone know about this process or how to go about doing so (aside from posting ads everywhere)? Is there taxes or fees involved? What government offices do we need to contact, etc.?Thank you so much for your help and advice! :-)
