I am particularly impressed with the oders tonight,
They've come out of the woodwork, it just feels so right.

To be odeing on EW and enjoying the laughs
You're right even if the topic makes us want to barf.

Yes an innocent little deer it was indeed,
went down to my belly with such amazing speed

But for the rest I'm not the adventurous kind,
Exotic looking animals on my plate you won't find,

My new love is cheese cake I can happily admit,
Along with chocolate on the top of my list it will sit

Crikey AM, it's too late for that!
Missing one meal wont make you not fat.

Get on the phone and call out for curry,
Quick find the phone, go on, hurry.

Just make sure it's chicken. or beef, or lamb
and not eyeballs or gizzards or some other scam.

My DH is completely cross
instead of a thurs night movie, he's had to doss

lounging around while I ode with glee
sniggering and spluttering quite happily

how to rectify this situation girls?
should i put on some lippy and let down my curls?

AM, forget dinner and just leave them to fend
let them call NKD while you with us blend

It took me a while, but now I am warmed up
Could it be, the juice in my cup?

It's true I am also rolling and laughing and crying
DH finds the whole situation quite trying.

How goes it at your house, everyone calm?
Or is your Dh ready to sound the alarm?

And have you whisked off, quick, to the shrink?
wrapped up in a straight jacket, gone, in a blink?

LB, your last ode is simply one of the best
i'm rolling around on the floor, it's a good job i'm dressed

that part about lips licky is truly supreme
you are really toníght's Odeing Queen

Ah yes, years ago, the days of yore
the days when we could eat much more

we could eat all day, yet still remain thin
in fact we were likened to a shiny new pin

now the love handles start to appear
the moment we crack open a beer

if anyone has not seen Knight and Day
it's on OSN - watch if you may

Cut of it's head, then I will eat it,
growling from my stomach, I can not defeat it.

I love meat, in various kinds
From belly, to wing, to a bit of behind.

I know in the west we're a little bit picky
But close your your eyes, shove it in give your lips a good licky.

Marroosh I am glad your finaly odeing
I hope all is well for our heads, no forbodeing.

*taking mental notes not to cross Di from Dubai*
lest she put things in our food that would make us cry

what became of this friend who fed you legs and not beef
was she forced to turn over a new leaf?

All this odeing on EW is boggling my mind,
It seems I am terribly falling behind,

Do teach me a lesson on rhyming skills,
before you ladies make me run for the hills

I don't like anything crawling or sliding on my plate
Neither is any insect of snake something I ever ate

Just lovely old bambi with eyes so brown,
Of course without the eyes if that makes you frown

Could well be case
but that she deserves
for giving me legs instead of hors d'oeuvres

Is she stuck, sitting on the loo?
Thinking dark thoughts, just about... You???

I bake a few things but mostly not sweet
I'm trying to retain the view of my feet

I once ate frog legs when told it was beef
but realised the ploy when she smiled through her teeth
I revenged with a cup cake laced with Exlax
still waiting for my friend to come back....

I've drunk anough wine to sink 6 big ships,
all of those calories straight to my hips.

Mind you Di your cake sounds like heaven
I could eat a slice, or 2, or maybe seven.

Wow, you really are a baker, very impressed
I'm sure you'll still fit right into that dress

I had two dinners, one at 4, one at 7
the later one really did taste like heaven

those spicy potatoes from Automatic grill
really gave me quite a thrill

they would beat all your chicken beaks and 'hoppers with legs
actually that sort of food is the dregs!

I cannot lay the blame on new York or M&S
I'm totally responsible for baking this mess

I'll borrow some pants in size XXL
and round the park I'll run like h**

Dare I ask if it was the New Yorker, from Spencers and Marks?
If so, you may need to run around a few parks

It is the tastiest thing I have ever digested
But in terms of calories, it is truly infested

Hope you have fun
but don't eat to excess
I just done the same and fear I can't dress
Having eaten most of a cheesecake alone
I suspect I’m doomed to stay home and think thin
Or at least throw the rest of the cake in the bin

It's hard to ode well all the time
sometimes it is hard to think in rhyme

yet other times it is hard to make yourself stop
you find yourself speaking like it, even in a shop

can you imagine 'overheard in McD's' with rhymes in the mix
how hard would simple tasks be? Like buying a Twix

everything would be harder and more cumbersome, for sure
oh the trials that we in Dubai have to endure!

I really must apologise
not been doing well on the odeing side.

I've started a few, the truth must be known
but the rhyming words in my head have not grown

I'd like to tell DiDXB 'Well Done'
Odeing so well, joining in the rhyming fun

Hopefuly next Thursday Eve
I'll have better odes, tucked up my sleeve.

It's so fun to have an odeing chum
(some people think odeing is really quite dumb)

But how better to pass a Thursday eve
especially as we seem to be getting a reprieve

So, dear Di, what plans for Fri?
Do you plan to stay in dear old Dubai?

We are off for the night, over to the East
my trousers shan't fit, as I'm sure we will feast

Its well you explained
The fine points of the rules
As mods are not to be taken for fools

Normal is something I’ve had to pretend
Reality is I’m quite round the bend

So fear not dear BM I shall persist in this style
And look forward to hearing your odes for a while

Di, I simply LOVE your odes
I beg you never to return to Normal mode

I think I have figured the rhyming rule
may I explain, don't call me a fool

I think it's ok to ode and rhyme
providing you don't digress and turn the thread to slime

talking of beheading/previous names and the like
is one sure way the mods will put you on your bike

as you can see from this thread further down
my digression did really make one Mod frown

in fact Mods used to ode as well
before, when they still thought we were all quite swell

so maybe if we keep this thread on track
we will all get to keep our heads attached to our back?

My baking is done
And now I am back
And yes I have fallen completely off track
But can anyone say why to rhyme is forbidden?
I’ve looked at the ‘Rules’ and unless it is hidden
Cannot see such mention, so unless I am wrong
I’m going to continue along with the throng
What’s bad about putting a few lines in verse?
Its better at least than being perverse
Like comments you see talking back at some posts
You’d think they were grilling whole BBQ roasts
What bees do they think they have they got in their bonnets
I find this far worse than a couple of sonnets
Digression aside -to return to the theme
I have eaten a snail with soup al crème
But never a rat, a mole or a lizard
If don’t think the latter would go down my gizzard.

Actually i think your odeing is great
especially talking of food you once ate

maybe we should have an EW poll
on who would eat a rat, a lizard or mole

I thought it was regurgitated out of their bellies
