Cinemas in Kuwait

There is censorship on movies, so some parts may have been edited which can be a little strange to watch. You may see children watching adult movies (at night too) and there also may be some chatting within the theatre, but the seats are very comfortable and roomy. It is however worth taking a jumper with you as the air conditioning in the cinemas is often over exuberant and even colder than in the Mall itself.

The English daily newspapers e.g. The Arab Times have daily listings and timings of what is showing at the cinemas which is very useful. It is a good idea to book ahead if at all possible, especially on Mondays and if there is a group of you. • Granada cinema - Abraq Khaitan, off the Old Airport Road

• Metro cinema - Metro Complex, Farwaniya. Near Crowne Plaza Hotel and Farwaniya Garden

• The Avenues - Off 5th Ring Road (towards Jahra) at the 60, keeping in the slip road

In addition, The Scientific Centre, Arabian Gulf Street has an IMAX theatre. These movies are often educational, 3D and sometimes in Arabic- headphones and 3D glasses are provided.
