Charities & Support Groups in Kuwait

Rich in various charity activities, the Kuwaiti State and citizens both work hard towards a variety of aims. For instance, they offer services to all people how need ir around the world, regardless of religion, homeland, gender or skin colour. The aim to provide the basic needs of food, drink, education and health and offer relief in afflicted areas of disasters, catastrophes, wars and famines. 


The Kuwait Government site explain how the State aims to establish various educational and training projects, which aim at the development and utilisation of human potentials and the elimination of illiteracy to make way for advancement and development. It also aims to create productive projects of development in poorer societies, with the aim of investing human and financial resources, and providing job opportunities.

General Secretariat of the Charitable Work
The General Secretariat of the charitable work is one of the bodies of the Social Reform Society of Kuwait, which was established after liberation of the State in 1991. It is one of the first civil charities in the Arab world.

Direct Aid (Africa Muslims Committee) started its work in 1981 as a voluntarily non-governmental instutution interested in the development in the neediest places in Africa. It conducts its works in a scientific way and does not look into the individual conditions.

Kuwait Society for the Protection of Animals and Their Habitat (K'S PATH)
The K'S PATH is a local non-profit animal welfare and the environmental protection organisation established in 2005 by Chairman and Founder Ayeshah Al Humaidhi. They provide a wide range of services for animals in Kuwait including companion animal shelter, farm and equine sanctuary, wildlife rehabilitation and sanctuary, wildlife management, stray animal control, environmental clean up, and education to name but a few.

PAWS Kuwait
PAWS strive to provide assistance to homeless, neglected and abandoned animals by providing veterinary care, rescue and adoption services, to domestic, wild and pet animals in Kuwait, in partnership with their rescuers.

Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital
KACCH is a non-governmental charitable organisation registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour in 2003. It was founded informally in 1989 to help children and their families cope with the stresses of hospitalisation. It is managed by volunteers and funded by donations from organisations, businesses, banks, schools and individuals within Kuwait. Currently KACCH is offering services in six government hospitals in Kuwait.
