September is quickly looming upon us, and between the chaos of finding school uniforms, suitable footwear, their cool new backpack or that pencil case your child has to have, you're probably looking forward to the start of term.

But don't worry - you'll have your little ones back into your arms soon enough, and it will fly by. Regardless of if you don't want it to, because the Kuwait school year starts on September 2, 2019 and ends on June 13, 2020.

So see below for the recent list of term dates and school holidays across Kuwait... and make sure to jot them in your diary!

Term 1

  • Registrations and classes begin weeks commencing 2 - 5 September across schools (varies by school year)
  • Half-term begins 27th October and ends 31st October
  • Term 1 ends on 18th or 19th December across schools (varies by school year)

Important holidays during this term:

  • Hijri New Year (Islamic New Year)
  • Birthday of Prophet Muhammed

Term 2

  • Term 2 begins on January 6, 2020
  • Half -term begins 23rd February and ends 27th February (inclusive of Kuwait National and Liberation Day)
  • Term 2 ends on 9 - 11 April, 2020 (varies by school year)

Important holidays during this term:

  • Kuwait National Day on February 26
  • Kuwait Liberation Day on February 26
  • Israa Al-Miraj, expected to fall on March 22

Term 3

  • The third term commences on 21st April
  • The last day of the term is on 13 - 16 June (varies by school year)

Important holidays during this term:

  • Ramadan is expected to fall on April 24, 2020
  • Ramadan is expected to end on May 23, 2020
  • Eid Al-Fitri is expected to start on May 24, 2020
  • Eid Al-Fitri is expected to end on May 26, 2020
