Kuwait Olympic Village project has been given the green light & construction is expected to start in the second quarter of 2017.

The Kuwait Olympic Village project has finally been given the green light. The main construction tender is expected to be released by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) by end of March, 2017
The project is estimated to cost a whopping 306 million Kuwaiti dinar.

The project, which will be located in Jaber Al-Ahmad City, will cover an area of 2.67 million square feet. It will feature a 25,000-seat stadium, a team games hall, an individual games hall, a racquet games hall, a swimming complex, an athletes’ residential block, a mosque, a track field and an Olympic Flame tower.
The detailed design is projected to be complete by the beginning of March, 2017. The main contract should be awarded in the second quarter of 2017, with construction starting in the same quarter and project handover for late 2020.
So far, Australia’s Meinhardt Engineering and Vietnam’s NKC Consultancy Co has been announced as some of the companies working on this project.

Other Kuwait projects include a cultural, entertainment and educational centre on Abdullah Al Ahmed Street and the first business zone in Mirqab residential area.
