Starring Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger, January Jones
Those who enjoyed
Taken, will relish the chance to see Liam Neeson back as a dramatic lead in the mystery thriller which leans part Ludlum / part Grisham....
Dr Martin Harris (Neeson) travels to Berlin with his wife for a business conference. He is involved in an accident (taxi driver – Diane Kruger) and awakes from a coma 4 days later to find that his identity has been assumed by an imposter.
It’s an interesting story as we follow Harris’ journey to discover who he is, and there’s a good twist in the tale. Liam Neeson puts forward a good case to assume the Harrison Ford roles for his generation. All the central characters play their parts well and good to see Kruger in a larger role doing more than looking stunning – which of course she does. I also particularly enjoyed the cold war veterans.
At times the script falls short of the standards set around it – a little cheesy in places – and the tracking abilities of those in pursuit of Harris are far-fetched to say the least. But then he did kill about 50 hardened criminals en route to save his daughter in Taken so maybe where Neesan is concerned, I’m prepared to cut a little slack on reality – it is the movies after all....
