Hi!
Thanks, TickleMonkey! You're amazing! (You've got mail).
I'm using some Jane Fonda, Kathy Smith dvds.. I also have a Cindy Crawford somewhere. I love Jane Fonda best, somehow it's more fun. I had dumb bells before I came to Dubai, haven't gotten any here yet..
Jane Fonda was using 5 kg (10 pound) weights, and so was kathy smith.. and they said you can increase in 1 lb increments every three weeks..
Don't think cans would work.. I've mentally ransacked the kitchen.. nothing's heavy enough yet easy to grasp..
Thanks!
spongemonkey and mejanie, I'm a bit of a cat lover myself, so using them wouldn't really work.. unless it falls asleep on my back as I do pushups..

I am using 5lbs but I struggle on the second set of the strength exercises so I tend to lose the weights and do it without. I am going to pick up some lighter dumbbells tomorrow, my thinking is its better to at least complete the exercise properly with lighter weights than not, with heavier. I will build up to using the 5lb ones - if I recover from these last 4 days! Good luck Tracy ( sorry her last name escapes me but she trains madonna and Gwenyth) says never to use more than 3 pounds on your arms if you want to be lean and toned

shelly your arms are aching because you are using the liter cans and it takes alot of muscle to hang on to those. You are meant to use the normal size, not the glutton size.

If you are really that desperate, use some cans of food or bags of rice!
