Hi I had all of ours done 4 months ago. Get all of the original documents signed by the PN. Next step. Take these copies to THE Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in the capital city.

That was all. I rang the embassy in Canberra but they said to finish the next step in Dubai which we did without a problem. make sure you get at least 3 originals of each document stamped. It does get expensive. I help this helps.

AdviceSeeker, I cannot be 100% certain (as my husband isn't here to check with), but I am almost sure we didn't send the originals, just the attested copy. The reason I say this is ours got lost being sent from the Sydney office of my husband's company to Dubai. He had his visa, but they were processing the rest of us. I know I would have remembered if the originals got lost. This was May last year.

Thanks ladies!!!

When you sent the documents to the UAE embassy did you just have to send the attested copies or also the originals??

I went through this process this year..and nothing has changed from what Jamo has advised. The documents that were sent to Canberra took a ten day turn around...but that was from Perth. Melbourne or Sydney would be much faster.

Hi,

We undertook this process 3 years ago in Australia before coming out here (so it may have changed). I had our degree's etc attested by a Notary Public (I can not recall if a JP was ok, but I would say no, as I recall specifically seeing a Notary Public)

I then went to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in the capital city I was residing in to get the documents authenticated, then we then sent the documents to the UAE Embassy (in Canberra) where the UAE Embassy legalizes the documents.

Have a look at the link below:

Hope it helps

Hi there,

A friend of mine is coming out here to work as a doctor, but needs to get all his documents attested, does anyone know the process? Is it as simple as taking it to a JP or Lawyer, or is there more to it?

help very much appreciated!
