Hah! Wow, thank you LaLaLayla, really good to know! Yes simpleasabc, I would've been running about in circles if I hadn't asked on here and mentioned he works in Abu Dhabi! So I have to go to AD because DH had his done there right?
EW has helped me out so much already and I've only been here a short time...I guess this is the time that I'll have the most questions as everything seems so new and overwhelming

Good thing you mentioned your husband working in Abs Dabs, LexieBerry, otherwise you'd have been going on a wild goosechase round Dubai That's the excellent thing about EW, someone, somewhere, will have the right information to give

You can't. You have to have them done in Abu Dhabi. The centre is near to Al Wahda Mall, it's called 'Centre for Disease Control', or something like that. Have the blood test, then go to Marina Mall Typing Centre to have your EID application typed up, go back to the Centre for Disease Control to the back of the building, have your iris scan and prints done, then wait for 2pm when you can go back upstairs to pick up your blood test results.
Oh, you need to pay for the VIP service, otherwise you will have to return the following day for your results.

Thank you so much simpleasabc, that's really helpful. I've got so much going on in my little head with researching different bits that need to be done and this was one thing that I just wanted to ask advice for on here!
My DH works in AD so he had his tests done there and ideally I'd like to get mine done here just for convenience.
Thank you for the welcome too - it's great to be able to chat things through with ladies that have been there and done it all before me. PS, I agree with you about the advertising issues on here tonight - what's that all about?!!

http://www.dubaifaqs.com/medical-test-dubai.php should help you a bit. Also, the Dubai Explorer books, particularly the one about Red Tape, will help, though it's probably out of date as things change so rapidly here. Where did your husband go for his tests, couldn't you go to the same place? They know what they're doing, you just make an appointment for a residence visa medical and they'll do the rest, though you need to have the right bits of paper (and possibly photos, I can't remember) with you and you need to get the typing done (translation of dox into Arabic) before you go in. I don't know if this is typical, but Al Safa has a typing centre on the spot. I've found this link, hope it helps more. http://www.dha.gov.ae/En/servicecatalogue/eservices/medicalfitness/pages/default.aspx PS Welcome to Dubai - once you've got all the boring guff out of the way, you'll have a great time edited by simpleasabc on 05/07/2012

Hi ladies, I have posted this on the medical forum but not had a response yet.
I am starting the process of becoming sponsored by my DH and I need to get my medical tests done, is there any centre that you can recommend for this? And what exactly do I need to ask for? I live in the Greens so ideally somewhere relatively close but of course if I need to travel a but further than that's fine
TIA
