Online Shopping in Qatar

Many of us are used to being able to shop online and get our goodies delivered direct to our door within a few working days.

Here it is slightly different due to the nature of the postal system, but it is getting easier both locally and internationally. A lot of people use Shop & Ship from Aramex or bongous which are essentially freight forwarding company, you set up an account which will cost you a one off payment they will then give you 2/3 accounts in China the US and UK.

You then shop online get them delivered to your account address in any of these countries then depending on the weight and size you pay a shipping fee to get your goodies sent to you wherever you are in the world. There are now many other websites who will deliver internationally for no extra cost. One thing to be aware of is the duties the can be incurred at customs.

Be aware if the value of the parcel is over $270 customs charge 5% of the total value. Locally there are more websites popping up which take care of the more mundane side of shopping that can be delivered direct to your door.
