can't imagine entertaining the idea of a swimming pool until at least april/may

the eventual plan is a bridge coming down on to the safa junction LD. the bridge is there now but it is not open yet. There are 4 ways southbound.

1- from al khail road/the back
2 - from SZ road taking Jumeirah exit and taking the u turn at the traffic lights at French bakery
3 - taking Burj Khalifa road and doing uturn at Murooj Rotana lights
4 - taking Dubai Mall road and doing turn at Dubai Mall lights.

Thanks for the heads up re the roads, have tried the Dubai mall metro and the tunnel one, have yet to take a right to old town but that may be interesting. Can't get my head around Dubai mall.. I have been going since it opened, considering it's the nearest, I actually prefer heading to mcc or moe! Is there any quicker way to get on szr south bound - any way to slip on to Safa interchange from spinneys area or am I just dreaming?!
Looking forward to using the pool! Looks like its getting a bit more busy.. I have two under six so ideal or us after work/school. Cheers

Arrrggggghhhhhhh!!!!! I have to sign in for every post atm. It's driving me nuts. Not a huge range of books I thought, lots of other bits and pieces though!!! Good for forgotten/last minute gifts and cards i think!!!

Access to/from SZ Road is the road past the metro station, access to Dubai Mall/Business Bay Bridge/Al Khail Road etc can be got to by going to the roundabout next to Millennium (or is it Falcon or is it Millennium Falcon :cool Tower; take a left, follow the road past Dubai Mall metro station and at the back of Emaar Square follow the road down to Financial St (Doha St?).

Access to DIFC/Trade Centre roundabout can be got to by going straight through said roundabout above and going through the tunnel, which brings you out at the back of DIFC.

Downtown/Dubai Mall can also be got to by taking a right at said roundabout and following the road with the blue fences til you reach the back of Downtown.

To get to Al Khail road using the back road you go from near Spinneys, take a left at that roundabout, follow the road alllll the way round the back of BB past the Radisson Blu hotel etc and it will bring you out on Al Khail road (after about 8 minutes). There is also a quicker way which 3cats knows but which is more difficult to explain.

Hello all!.. We have just taken a lease for 100k 3bed plus maids.. Living area medium and medium galley kitchen. The same apartmet up higher was going for 85k. Liking it here, it has a nice comunity feel, but finding the roads hard to navigate. Surprisingly quiet, but maybe just getting used to it. Going out to find some blinds.. Any hints...

Hope that is the case with the rent. They seem to be at least 110000 dhs now. We only paid 90000 for ours and that was 14 months rent. WH Smiths is open now! It is a really big branch. Great place for picking up birthday cards and gifts. I am delighted. Just down the corridor from Spinneys.

Gingercat is there not some rule that your rent can't go up by more than 5% in 2nd year or something?

How much are the 3beds now out of interest?

new signboards include a London Dairy, an Apollo flight centre and also there seems to be a lot happening out the back (front?) - the Burj K side, lots of little sand dunes getting flattened!

Not open yet Was looking on Dubizzle and see that the rents on the 3 bed apartments are going up considerably. Should I expect our rent to go up in August?!!

One of the ladies on here asked about classes when the gyms opened. I think she was told they were starting soon, haha. There were also rumours (from the security guard) that we would have to pay after a few weeks, now I have thought about it I guess he had his wires crossed and that the classes would start and of course, we would have to pay for them. i hope they are good and not too $$$!!! Sauna is great in the gyms.

Exciting about the shops! I'd like a reasonable salon to wax my hairy legs, lol!!!
