Hello Ladies, I have been living in AD for 17 months and apart from my ex-boyfriend and a couple of work colleagues, have made no other close friends! Anyway, if there are any of you out there who are looking to explore places, have dinner, drinks, go for bike rides....anything...then feel free to email me at mirving36@msn.com. My name is Marcelle and I'm from Liverpool in the UK originally. Oh and by the way I'm 46 so might be a bit old for all night parties and clubbing...LOL

Looking forward to meeting some of you soon, Jo xx xx
one of the recent threads was deleted, why ? yes you are not allowed to do meet ups, although EW doesnt seem to do coffee mornings any more so really it shouldnt be a problem now.

Hi Ladies,
I stumbled across your thread on Expat Women and was wondering if any of you want to meet up for coffee or drinks etc?
I've lived in Abu Dhabi for 18 months now, and to be honest still struggle with the lack of social life. My husband works 6 days a week, I don't work at the mo, and don't have children, so I get very bored.....

Hi Claire,
I am moving from the UK to A.D next week and arrive on 6th Oct. We will be staying in a hotel on Yas Island until we find our own place and I would love to meet up once I'm over. As my husband will be the only person I know there I'm desperate to get out and meet new people. x

I know that Abu Dhabi health and fitness club did lessons (19th Street). Which I believe is now called Abu Dhabi Country club - so look under both names and I think that 'The Club' down at the port (where abu Dhabi mums meet) also does lessons, but you may have to be a member - unsure on that.
If I think of anywhere else I shall let you know!

Welcome to the UAE!
I have just moved to Dubai from Abu Dhabi. I lived there for 2 years and had a son aged 4 months when we arrived. My advice is to join Abu Dhabi Mums - www.abudhabimums.ae there is a very small registration fee but this then allows you to join different toddler groups and gain lots of other benefits including discounts around AD. Once you join you will soon meets lots of other mums and your child will make lots of friends. The group is based just by the port which is at the end of the Khalifa Highway into AD - so very convenient for you to get to.
Hope this helps and enjoy AD - I loved it.
