I don't think mossies will be to much of a problem this time of the year as it's too hot.It sounds like as long as you're not expecting any form of luxury but have a good sense of adventure you'll be fine. the crab hunt seems to be a hit
thanks guys! how about the dinner? I heard there are only indian foods? and i also read there are many mosquitos inside the room?@Sanddy_Dogg: I read the tripadvisor comments after I bought the vouchers. That's why im having second thoughts now:P
I bought the cobone deal and we have used it. We stayed on a Saturday night, we arrived to a very friendly check in, we were early but room was ready, the room is basic just about clean, toilet/shower could do with a re-vamp but hey this is not 5 star, and we just wanted somewhere to shower/change and sleep. The pool was cleaner than some 5*s I have stayed in. The crab hunting was mega fun, and I took my 5yo with us on it. (take some shoes that can go in water or you can pay 5dhs to hire) Buffet was basic but fed us fine. Breakfast very basic, but again it was ok. Went on the free boat ride on the Sunday which was nice. The hotel is small but it means that everything is within walking distance so if you forget something in your room it is not a trek to go back. Little private beach was clean (ish) you cant stop what the tide washes up. grounds are nice and full of flowering bushes/plants. All in all we had a really refreshing relaxing time, staff were friendly but not in your face, just remember it is not 5* and dont expect all the normal luxuries, if you remember this you will be fine. It is worth the cobone deal but I probably would not pay full price for it.
We've been there before and done the crabbing thing. It's not a flash hotel, I'd reckon it's about a 3 star! It's pretty old and run down. But the grounds are nice, good size pool and a grassy area for the kids to run around. Buffet breakfast is ok. Nice to get away and not pay a fortune... But not somewhere you'd go just for a lovely break away! We took our kayak and went for a paddle around the mangroves and estuary to see the flamingo's up close.
i have been in but not stayed there. it looks a bit fawlty towers but i find that quite appealing for a change!
