Newborn Dubai ... I seen some of your photos on FB recently as you did a shoot for a friend of mine. I wish I had known about you when I gave birth in July. Love your work!

Hey Big Blue! Baby is still hanging in there, hopefully we'll all have our little buddle of joys soon. I hope you here better news today . Don't worry to much too, alot of people said that they haven't dilated until a day or two before labour and some people dilate weeks before labour starts. Good luck to you too!

Hiya ladies,
It's been a while since I wrote here, how are you all coping? Not long to go now. I had my check up yesterday and apparently baby can come anyday now since i'm 2/5 dilated. How's everyone else doing? Are you all ready for your little ones to arrive?? Good luck!

Hi Katie,
I havent been to City so can't really comment but so far AHD have been brilliant. I was actually on the labour ward a couple of weeks ago after pulling a muscle down my side and the midwives were so lovely. Again not sure about City but the packages at AHD are comprehensive so you dont have to worry too much about hidden costs when you come to leave the hospital. I am sure both hospitals are very good however based on my experiance so far, I would recommend AHD to anyone!
Hope that helps!

Thanks LT_01 for your feedback on the antenatal classes at the American Hospital, was about to ask if anyone had a chance to attend these yet
Still debating whether I should give birth at City or American Hospital, have reviewed all the threads and did tours of both hospitals/maternity wards but was not able to come to a conclusion yet. Is my first so not really sure what to pay close attention to, argh! Any pointers?
Have a good day everyone

Hi All,
hope everyone is doing well?
I have joined the weird belly button group too and have purpleish / redish marks around my belly button but still no stretch marks so im pleased. My dr said its just pressure from the baby and also mentioned that if you have had a piercing there in the past its normally worse.
If anyone is thinking about doing antenatal classes, I went to the 2 day class at American Hospital over the weekend with a midwife/lactation consultant called Frooz. it was really good and nice to meet some other 30+ week mums. If you are thinking about going to one, I recommend American Hospital.
Really feeling the heat now but looking forward to some reduced working hours in Ramadan!

It does sound like skin streching; I've also had a blue-ish circle around my belly button lately and I think it is veins close to the surface, probably being pushed by the growing baby. I'm actually stuggling a bit with the heat lately, makes me feel so exausted and about to faint most of the time. I need to find a way to stay home more! Hope you're better now:-)
Thanks Big Blue! Sorry for not replying back sooner, it's been pretty hectic here as I have alot of family members in dubai so I've been busy with them. The burning feeling is abit better then before, I also spoke to the doctor and she also said it's the stretching so thats good . I also agree with you on the heat, I feel like melting just being in the car park.
How's everyone feeling?? Not long now, I still can't believe we're in the 3rd trimester.

Just wondering, has anyone had a 3D scan yet and if so at how many weeks? My next scan is at 32 weeks but i'm wondering if i should have a 3D scan before this?
Also, is anyone else planing to deliver at American Hospital?
Big Blue - i'm with you on the heat!! Its going to be a long summer....
Hi LT, from 12 weeks onwards I've always had a 3D scan along with the usual scan, sometimes of course depending on the position of the baby you can't get a clear view so it's not much use (it needs space around the baby for the ultrasound to generate an image, so if the baby's head is stuck against your uterus for instance, you will probably just see a mass of something that won't make any sense). My understanding is that it's used mostly for a visual representation of the baby and so that you can get a "photo" of the baby's face if the position allows, I am not aware of it having any other medical purpose so I wouldn't be too worried about when or whether to do it if I were you.

They gave me some paracetamol and an antacid and within an hour I was much better. If you've had it for a while though it may be something different. Hope you'll feel better soon.
Thank you big blue , I'm happy to hear that it wasn't something dangerous. Unfortunately mine is a different feeling, it's a burning sensation on the skin, but I think its the skin stretching. I'll make sure when i see the doctor. Also have a weird blue colour all around my belly button, it looks like its bruising but it doesn't feel like it's bruised. Anyway maybe I'm just over reacting .
Hope your pregnancy is going well Big blue, and the heat isn't getting to you too.

I had the GTT a couple of weeks ago and it really isn't that bad. I was able to get an 8am appointment so didn't really notice the fasting and you have the drink after the first blood test which stops you feeling hungry. I was also able to get my monthly checkup scheduled for inbetween blood tests which helped make the time go faster.
Wishing everyone all the best!
Hi LT_01,
Welcome to the group and congratulations on your pregnancy. Hopefully we can all help each other if there are any information or helpful tips for first time mum etc.
I actually have a question, has anyone felt a weird burning sensation at the top of their stomach yet when you touch it its numb. I've been feeling this for the last 2 weeks. I wanted to ask the doctor but I had a bad experience with her when i had the GTT, she was in a hurry and I didn't get to see my baby properly on the scan because she didn't know how to work it. Hopefully will ask another doctor when i have my next appointment in 3 weeks. But just wanted to know if anyone else felt this. Thanks ladies
