Sorry been away so I missed this. It's complicated to explain, but here goes.

From Gharaffa R/A head towards education city, take a right at the first roundabout (gulf English school R/A). Go to the next roundabout by Gharaffa football stadium and turn left. Straight through the next R/A and at the next roundabout by the medical centre turn left. At the next R/A (by Al Meera supermarket) turn right. Follow this road till the end and turn left, then first right. This road twists and turns, just follow it until you get to a 4 way junction and go left. On your right about a 100 meters up the road is a newly tar sealed road. Take this and enjoy (no speed bumps) until you see 2 girls schools, turn left just before them, go to the end of the road and turn left, follow this road around and you'll see the boys school in behind Sherborne. I usually drive past the boys school and turn left, then Sherborne is on your left at the end of the road.

It's worth a practice before school starts to figure it out. I have a google earth map that makes it easier to envisage which I can send you if you like. Just email me at gjohnsen@sherborneqatar.org . I'll also try and get the map and directions loaded onto the school website early next week.

Dan Lou, after doing some searching, another option is West Bay because the driving times to Sherborne are roughly 25 minutes. However, they did mention that the prices for a 3 bed place is upward from 23K. So I think I will focus on Gharaffa area.

Thanks ladies, they are going to concentrate their search on Gharaffa. Only problem is they've been offered nice company accommodation at Old Airport!!

I live by College of North Atlantic (Duhail) and it's generally 20 minutes from here (at the moment 15). There is a tarsealed back road that shortens the journey time considerably and means you don't have to drive along the main Sherborne road with all it's speedbumps. Gharaffa would be a 10 minute drive from Sherborne.

Al Waab (Beverly Hills Gardens) to Sherborne is between 20 and 30 minutes. Quicker times are generally on Sundays and Thursdays for some reason.
Of course, at the moment it's 15 minutes....absolutely lovely!

Have the same situation, someone told us that from Al Waab to the school takes them about 25min. My DH will be working in West Bay and for us we seem to think the Al Gharrafa, Al Duhail area would suit. they seem pretty central for the fact that he'll be going in one direction and me the other to Sherborne. I'm hopeing that the gharrafa area may be on the quieter side of town and that I could take the back roads ie a shorter traveling time. I guess I'll find out once I'm there.

My friend's child has been accepted to Sherborne but we can't get an idea of driving times given all the schools are closing and traffic is so much less! So, if you drive there (or know anyone who does!) can you please give us an idea where you're coming from and how long it takes? Then they can narrow their housing search

TIA!
