If you are having problems choosing a particular destination I would opt for a med cruise, we've done it twice now and would do it again, different destination every morning and so much to see and do, fantastic food and great facilities, never boring, absolutely loved it.

Abaddon that happened to me in Manchester. I'm from Australia so I was wondering if that is normal in England lol.
Our favourite holidays have been to Barcelona and Tuscany. Both amazing places with lots to do, great food and lovely people.

a few years ago we did a round the world trip, unfortunately it started as a planned 6 week break but hols were not approved so we went for 3 weeks, we basicially went to usa and then over to the french polynesia.... did island hopping, bora bora moorea tahiti then onto cook island and rarotonga.... cook islands were really nice..... 18 planes in 3 weeks.

If I had to pick just one I would say Japan (particularly Tokyo). I just love it there. It is crazy how much yummy food you will see while there and then the people are so tiny! My friends, family, and I always wonder how they don't get fat... but I guess they don't eat everything they see in one day like we do LOL . I have been fortunate enough not to gain weight despite the amount of food I eat because we walk so much since we don't rent a car when we visit there.
One funny experience I had in Tokyo was buying a bra. The sales woman just walked right in my dressing room and put her hands in my bra and adjusted my breasts... I was so shocked by first her just entering but I just thought that it must be normal there. Then as she was telling me to see if everything is right and put her hands toward me I thought she was just going to maybe pull and tug at the bra. I was in shock but I guess that is normal. I wonder if they would do it to a non-Japanese speaking foreigner though.. I speak Japanese so she might have expected it to be ok with me.
Seoul has been one place I want to visit but seeing what has been said here now I am not so sure... I might scratch that off my list... edited by Abaddon on 08/07/2012

Dream destination would be Seoul, Korea. Mostly because of the yummy food =) Seoul? Lol! Better to just go to a good Korean restaurant than go to Seoul. Trust me,your not missing anything.
Why?

Reubens and Le Quartier in Franshoek (staying at the Plumwood Inn), Jacis Tree Lodge in Mandikwe and Cape Town (had to move to a very mediocre Protea President becasue of an emergency, although more than amply compensated by the arrival of the Italian rugby team also staying there).....this was an amazing holiday (but by way of a warning...expect to put on a shed load of weight!)

Nice, I'm going there in three weeks Try Tokara restaurant nestled up in the Franshoek mountains for amazing food and views....Buuuuut PP, its a bad time to visit the Cape as its notoriously wet and brr in the winter. It can be like Ireland in July and August - green and rainy. There isnt much central heating to pack plenty of fleeces for evenings and outdoor activities.

Las Vegas, Cape Cod, Bali and Borocay - yes, I totally do not have a "type" of holiday that I enjoy! Being with my husband is the common denominator.

For romance - venice.
Beach holiday - Thailand (phuket, koh samui, phi phi island)
Historical - Egypt (for the ancient sites alone. The destination on its own I found not too enjoyable or relaxing - aside from sharm)

What do you like to do on your holidays? What climate will you be looking for? How much time to you have? Would you prefer to settle in one spot or travel around?
We'll find the perfect spot for you!

Love the Maldives for luxury but boring after a week. Australia has the best beaches, stunning! Also Indonesia for beaches and culture and just so scenic. Loved our South Africa holiday. Also love Tuscany! edited by Bird on 07/07/2012
