 Qatar Norwegian School

Qatar Norwegian School is a Norwegian private school, located in Mesaieed .

The school is receiving grants from the Norwegian Government and follow the Norwegian Curriculum. Teaching language is Norwegian and the school is for Norwegian, Swedish citizens only. Students have 190 school days each year.

Qatar Norwegian School has existed since 1971. Previous names has been Qafco Norwegian School and Qatalum Norwegian School.

For the academic year 2011 – 2012, the school had approximately 30 student from 1 to 10. grade, 6 – 15 years old. The majority of the parents are working for Qatalum.

The schools calendar is following the Norwegian school year closely. The students and their parents often stay in Qatar for shorter periods, 6 months to 3 years, and it has to be possible “jump” into a semester in Norway or at QNS.
