Review: How Botox Reversed My Ageing Signs

It’s been over a year since I had my last Botox so it’s time to relax those muscles again that caused the deep wrinkles on the forehead and crow’s feet around the eyes.

As you may remember I did Botox at Elite Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Group with Dr. Allen Rezai previously and I was extremely happy with the results that I’m going back again to Elite Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Group to see Dr. Allen Rezai.

Botox can be daunting thinking you will end up with the frozen face, with no expressions, are you happy, are you sad or are you angry? Having the right amount injected into the right areas is very important.

I have Botox to not only reduce my fine lines and wrinkles and I believe it can slow down the process of ageing lines and causing the wrinkles to go deeper. My main concern is the few deep wrinkles I have on my forehead, crow’s feet and the one or two wrinkles I have when I frown. Living in Dubai with the sun so strong we tend to frown a lot and squint because of the sun. My job requires me to be out of the office most of the time and although I wear sunglasses when I come out of the buildings and dig deep into the bag to find the sunglasses I’ve already frowned and squinted or frowning at the crazy drivers here.

I have been sent the pre and post treatment details to my email address prior my booking. I would say the most important do’s and don’ts are:

Pre-Treatment:

Avoid aspirin or aspirin-containing products for a week before the procedure
Avoid alcohol for 24hrs prior to your treatment
Make sure you discuss with your Doctor/ Nurse any bleeding tendencies and current medications being used.

Post-Treatment:

Avoid touching/massaging the treated area within the following 12 hours. After that, a light makeup may be applied and the area can be gently washed with soap and water.
Although the treatment is well tolerated by most patients, you may use paracetamol for any discomfort. It is best to not take aspirin, aspirin-containing medication, Ibuprofen, Nurofen or other anti-inflammatories for 24 hours after treatment as this may increase bruising.
Do not lie down for 3 hours after the treatment.
Avoid strenuous exercise (perspiring) for 24 hours following treatment. You may otherwise resume normal activities.
Alcohol should also be avoided for 24 hours after treatment.

Botox at EPCSG: Before and After

Seeing Dr. Allen Rezai is always such a pleasure as he takes his time to explain again where the treatment will be done. I ask him for a very slight lift in the corners of my eyebrows as I feel this gives me the fresh non-tired look when I wake up in the morning. My main concern is the 'frown' wrinkle and the deep wrinkle that I have on my forehead.

All prepped with the numbing cream we start the procedure. Do I feel anything? Not at all! The light touch of Dr. Allen Rezai I only know when I’m going to injected as he asks me to frown then relax I know this is when I will have the Botox injection. Slight pressure is applied after the injections to stop any bruising but I have never bruised having this procedure with Dr. Allen.

All done, now I just have to wait a week to 10 days for the Botox to kick in!
