Snow Falls in Saudi Arabia and the Locals Are Loving It

Residents living in Saudi Arabia woke up this week to find that their sandy desert turned into winter wonderland. In a rare occurrence, the temperature fell to a chilling -3 degrees Celsius. Interestingly enough, the weather went back to being in the warm 20s during the day.

Many drivers there are certainly not used to these road conditions, so many either avoided driving or simply parked their cars on the side of the road as they couldn’t manoeuver the slippery roads.

This video was posted on Twitter and we couldn't help but chuckle a little. While we don’t personally recommend trying this, we’re impressed!

While it is rare, this isn’t the first time snow covered the country in white. Here are a few of our favourites from previous times it snowed over the years.

Decorating snowmen
An absolute must. These are very well made!

Playing in the snow
Nothing brings out the child in you more than playing in the snow! We imagine there was a snow fight that happened here too.

Snow dancing
We're not entirely sure what happened before - or after - this picture was shot but we have no doubt it was extremely fun!

Mountain views
What better way to view this white blanket of snow other than from high above? Perfect place to take pause and enjoy the moment.

Diving into the snow
Head first, just because. That must've felt freezing!
