As expatriates, a large proportion of us are guilty of promising to see the "true sights" of Dubai, its history and culture. We all know that often that just isn't the case, and many don't grab the opportunity to explore after settling.

On the flip side, the rest of us may have already experienced many of the dull, long-winded and outdated tours that exist in Dubai.

Introducing Nada Badran, whose business Wander With Nada aims to abolish all things dull about discovering what Dubai has to truly offer, and the parts that often go unmissed. You see, so many tourists will visit Dubai and leaving feeling they have explored the true culture of the emirate by visiting malls, fancy hotels and beaches.

But we all know that there is so much more to Dubai than that, and this is what Nada is determined to bring to the forefront of the tourism industry that exists here, with a fun, fresh and modern twist that caters for any woman eager to explore.

What is Wander With Nada?

With lots of experience and airmiles behind her, Nada aims to create a tour guide that truly explores why Dubai is Dubai. Unfortunately there is a certain stereotype surrounding tour guides that makes people think twice before booking one, and so Nada hopes to delve into the really interesting stuff in the emirate to give residents and visitors alike a taste of what this place is truly built on.

The aim of Wander With Nada is to bring to you the real stories behind all of the awesome sights you see during your tour, and exploring at your own pace, having an epic time and making a local friend.

You can do this through two types of tours; Good Morning Dubai, or Good Afternoon Dubai. In both, you'll find yourself walking between the streets of old Dubai, stopping by a few enchanting sights and witnessing the city's dynamic history woven by its people.

Why should you become a wanderer?

On each tour, you'll pass by the souks where once upon a time, vendors were only known by their names so you would often find a buyer shouting out ‘ALI’ in search for his trusted vegetable vendor.

There, you can practice your haggling skills and have the 'kteer ghalee' (very expensive) debate to score your best price. Once you check off all items on your souvenir and friends' shopping lists, you will then cross over to the other side of Dubai in a traditional abra, and wander around the old residential neighborhoods admiring their architectural beauty and learning about Emirati hospitality and traditions.

By then, it's guaranteed that your stomach will be grumbling loud enough to guide you  to one of Dubai’s best eats where you can eat, drink tea, and be merry.

Nada says...

"People need to capitalise on their time spent in the city, rather than sitting in a bus with their head buried in a guide book."
