Go to Bab Al Bahrain, that's the Souq, go and have original Iranian Tikka (nom nom), Amwaj Island I think is only accessible for resident but I could be wrong. Bander Beach Resort is nice for a day and you can hire chalets too. There is a Banyan Tree as well. Visit Adliyah Area, it has nice places for lunch or sweets: Cafe Lilou, Coco's (service is bad but food is good), Have a fresh juice and cheap sandwich from one of the "Hole in the wall" restaurants. Gulf Hotel (I used to work there lol) has a nice swimming pool area, or try Marina Club if you want to go for a swim. Avoid Exhibition Road at all costs lol, it's awful in the weekends. edited by Marroosh on 05/05/2013

I am going to Bahrain for the first time and only have the weekend there in Al Manamah. What is must see or do?? any ideas??? Thank you Hi I lived there for four years so know Bahrain quite well. Brunch - Ritz Carlton or Gulf Hotel. To visit, Al Areen Wildlife Park, the forts, Amwaj Island, the Cultural Museum, Tree of Life. Please do not be put off by the tanks and security in Manama itself.
