Please can someone let me know if this is possible from the UK in early May, as I have read somewhere that the Bahrain Government does not allow pet imports between May to September as the hold will be to hot and kill the pet ? Or is there a way to bring a pet in the cabin - on a flight from London ?

We move there in May and my children are adamant that she comes too !

Many thanks for any new resident advice - we only decided to come on Tuesday and have so man things to work out before May!

Melanie :-)

Hi Melanie, i moved from Europe to bahrain with my two pet dogs. I ll try to answer your questions. 1.May is too hot it has over 40 to 50 degrees at day time and even by night it stays much over 30 degrees and also humidity is very high which is uncomfortable for dog he also need to acclimate first. So this is too hot to fly with a dog, even if it's just 30 degrees and sun is shining at the kennel eg while waiting at the airport can get dangerously hot Inside the kennel. 2. I came with two dogs, one big and one 5kg dog which I wanted to take in the cabin-but Bahrain laws prohibits travel with any dog in the cabin, they are only allowed to enter to bahrain as cargo. If you need something don't hesitate to ask and all the best for your relocation. Sel

Hi Melanie2015 I know this isn't much help but thought I would like to try and answer . I really don't know if it's possible to send your dog in May but I can tell you the temperatures will be extremely hot during those months. Temperatures can be unofficially 50 plus. The morning and evening will also be considerably warm ie in the high 30s so even going out for a walk at these times can be uncomfortable. You may be already aware of this but just so you know even if you can bring your pet at this time it may take a bit of getting used to the weather and conditions . Good luck with your move if I can help at all let me know. We have lived in the ME for nearly 6 yrs, 5 in Qatar and almost 1 here in Bahrain. Bahrain is friendly I'm sure you will enjoy it ?? edited by alee on 18/02/2015
