dorothylittle, I understand your frustration about unanswered phones.....but what can you do? There are a number of countries that have a reciprocal licensing scheme of some sort..... I know that coming from the US, we are not required to get a Bahrain driving license, our US one will suffice. I would imagine it is up to your friend's insurance company as to whether or not you're permitted to/covered driving her car. Mine is leased, and only my husband and myself are listed on the lease.
Does anyone know if it is OK to drive someone's car ie a private vehicle not a rental - in Bahrain on a UK driver's license. I have tried to contact numerous companies including Directorate of Traffic with no success as no-one ever seems to answer the phone.
I live in Saudi and have the use of a friends car in Bahrain so want to be able to drive.
Thanks
