After graduating in Medicine in Pakistan, Dr. Ali spent some time working for the armed forces, during which time he was sent to Bosnia as part of the United Nations. While treating Bosnian children during the Balkan war, he developed an interest in children's medicine and, subsequently, he completed his paediatric training in Birmingham and Newcastle-upon Tyne, UK. Before moving to Dubai, he worked at Northampton General Hospital, UK, for over nine years as a consultant paediatrician with special interest in paediatric haematology and oncology (children's cancers and blood disorders).

Dr. Ali has vast experience in all aspects of general paediatrics like asthma, allergy, infections, headaches, stomach issues, slow growth, vomiting/diarrhoea/constipation, urine infections, fits/faints, lumps/enlarged lymph nodes and vaccinations. He has special expertise in the management of various types of anaemia such as nutritional anaemia, sickle cell disease, thalassemia etc.

He offers a holistic approach to medicine, ensuring that all the needs of his young patients are met.

Dr Ali is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London, UK a member of the Children's Cancers and Leukaemia Group a member of SIOP (International Society of Paediatric Oncology) and holds full registration with the General Medical Council, UK.

Dr Ali's main outpatient base is at Mediclinic Dubai Mall. If any of his patients need inpatient treatment, he admits them under his supervision at Mediclinic City Hospital ensuring smooth continuity of care. Dr Ali also participates in the on call rota at Mediclinic City Hospital and undertakes one weekly outpatient clinic there.
