Aga Khan Early Learning Centre (AKELC) Has Been Shortlisted for a Special NDNA Award

AKELC is celebrating after it was announced they had become a finalist for National Day Nurseries Association’s International Nursery of the Year Award

Parents wrote praising testimonies to help AKELC become a finalist in the 15th annual awards.

Kelli Allen, Head of Nursery and Preschool said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for this award. We feel extremely proud that the parents support us so much to vote for us in this way. Both staff and children here are ecstatic.”

AKELC is a high quality, non profit Nursery school that has been in operation since 2010 in the Oud Metha area.

NDNA Chief Executive, Purnima Tanuku OBE, said: “A huge well done to AKELC.This is a fantastic achievement for them. They should be very proud of their amazing, hard work in this sector. “I look forward to seeing them at the ceremony.”

BBC Midlands journalist, Sarah Bishop, will be announcing the winners at the ceremony at the Ricoh Arena on 22 June. The NDNA’s annual conference is held at the same venue during the day.

The 15th annual Awards have seen more nurseries than ever register with 200 applying. Shortlisted nurseries were chosen by NDNA staff.
