Hi
Thank you both so much for your replies.
Do you know if there is some kind of fitness club/gym nearby? I thought The Els Club may have this facility but doesn't seem so from what I can gather?
Many many thanks in advance!
Victory Heights has a couple of small, but adequate gyms you can use for free. Otherwise, there is Bodyworx and Fitness First - large gyms - in Motorcity and Optimal Fitness in Studio City. All less than a five minute drive or 15 minute walk. Plus there is Exhale which is pilates, yoga type exercise in Motor City.

We love victory heights. It's true there aren't so many pools, but when we use them, they are big enough for my four kids to enjoy. There are heaps of children here and your kids will have no trouble making friends. There is one large park and lots of smaller ones and great paths for biking and skating. Everything is accessible - groceries etc - and you can have everything delivered if you don't want to leave!
Access roads are now complete so it's easy to get everywhere, even DIFC.
Most of the areas in Victory Heights are finished though they are still doing some building. Lovely well designed villas, many have golf course views and private pools. The access is excellent now onto both Emirates Road and Al Khail Road. Hearing good things about the school too. The shops at Motor City are about 5 minutes drive (there is a little shop by one of the entrances but I haven't looked in it) and The Els Club is reputedly very nice, I haven't personally eaten there either.
Only possible downside is that the 2 community pools are not very large but if your budget is a healthy one then perhaps you'll be able to stretch to a private pool!
Hello!
Just wondering if you can shed any light on Victory Heights as a location to live? We're a family of 5 (me, DH and 3 young children) moving in Jan 2014. We've highlighted it as a school place seems realistic for our eldest but have no idea what its like and there is relatively little recent stuff about the place online.
Do you live there? What's it like? Is the school any good? Are there any shops/cafes etc? Is it still a building site or finished? And is it friendly?!
We've got a pretty good budget but we're really struggling with finding a school place and we want to live near wherever our child gets a place.
Lots of questions I know, sorry. I'd really appreciate any feedback you could give on the place as we're clueless!
