So since my 8 month old DD is being super picky with the purees I've been making for her, I decided to buy something ready-made (!) and got Petits Filous - she really liked i!t! She didn't do the usual spitting-back-in-my-face that I usually got from purees. Hope this lasts!

So if anyone is having no luck with purees maybe try baby yogurt? It's recommended to just make it at home, which I will do eventually, but after steaming + pureeing + freezing + thawing efforts and having food thrown back at me, I just wanted something readymade!

Has anyone else's LO liked yogurt?

The pre packaged "kids" yogurts are loaded with sugar more than anything else. You're better off using the regular full-fat plain yogurt. I try to make a lil parfait with banana or strawberry slices or blueberries with a crumbled choc chip cookie on top! If your child isn't into fruit yet, add a dash of sugar and mix it in yourself. At least there's nothing else added and you know what's going in the yogurt.

My ds loves yoghurt.due to teething problems he is only eating yoghurt happily. i used to give him glenisk without sugar fruit yoghurt. petits filous has sugar in them so i avoided them. i have recently started giving him normal full fat yoghurt with some fruit puree added. i normally give him fruit puree for breakfast along with some eggs. so whatever fruit i puree i keep little aside for yoghurt too. as for avocado ds hated it the first time i gave him but now he loves it. i mix it with either mango or banana and he loves both combination. plain banana he does not eat at all!

My bub at that age preferred fruits like pear and mashed papaya, peaches and I also used to steam apple and add a bit of cinnamon, he started to like banana later on. Sweet potato is also a good one with a nice natural sweet flavour. By then we had also started on meat and fish, he especially loved things like lamb stews that I would purée, basically just lamb cooked with veggies like a bit of carrot, celery, leek...we did a combo of puréed and finger foods as he was happy to be fed that way, he loved holding fingers of soft bread and pieces of really soft veggies, but always preferred to eat the veg if they were roasted instead of just steamed lol! Good luck and try not to get stressed! If she likes yogurts you can def try mixing different grated fruit in too. There are some good recipes in the Annabel Karmel and Gina Ford weaning books and plenty online if you google Annabel Karmel.

Yup I'm definitely going to try real yogurt, I didnt know it was okay for them to eat just regular yogurt! Will get the Organic one just to be safe :) [b'>@sydneygal[/b'> thanks for the tips, DD doesnt like banana avocado and carrots (the only 3 things I've tried so far), I've pureed all of them so maybe thats the reason? She takes a few bites then spits it out and screams if I give more! I am going to try Baby Led Weaning, hopefully she'll eat fruits and vegs then!

Another easy thing to try that my bub loved at that age and doesn't incl cooking is just mashing avocado with banana. He also loved the avocado mixed with finely grated pear as a dessert.

Most bubs love yogurt. I'd definitely stick to a plain organic yogurt at this age with some mashed fruit. You'd be surprised that they dont mind if its not sweet. I find the petit filious brand full of sugar and preservatives/e numbers. If you want to stick to the pots you could try the Rachel's Organic or the Glenisk organic brand in waitrose, they also do little fromage frais. No preservatives or added sugar, but of course still have fruit sugars.

My DD seemed to react to the colourings in it or the sugar, not sure. I avoid it now and mix fresh mushy raspberries with plain yoghurt. And now a dash of honey since she turned 1 :-)

Hi I have found that those pots are too small for ds. I give him Rachel's Organic First Tastes. He loves loves yoghurt. It would eat it all the time if I let him.
