I booked a flight for my maid some time ago flying Cathay Pacific. I booked and paid online using my credit card and they issued an e-ticket which I printed and gave to my helper.
I noticed on the e-ticket that it has asked me to provide my credit card as proof of purchase (or something) when the time comes to fly. I will not be in the country at this time so not sure what I can do. Has anyone experienced this?

I think you always have to give them authorised copies of the cc's used. Better to pay cash in the travel agency.

I did it with a letter of authorisation and on the same letter page a copy of the FRONT of the cc with half the numbers blocked out - that was sufficient and no-one can do anything with that Thanks Pepps. Good idea!

Thanks for the replies. I really don't feel comfortable giving her copies of my credit card so I guess I will give them a bell. Thanks again

Hi, Don't know about Cathay Pacific but when I did the same with Etihad I had to go to their office to pick up the receipt, they may also have put some comment in the computer system, and carrying the receipt she didn´t have a problem. Better to call Cathay Pacific and ask about the procedure.

I booked my maid her ticket on Cathay Pacific using DH's card, because he was going to drop her off at the airport and I knew he would go to the check-in with her just to make sure all was ok (first time flying out of Dubai). They asked to see tyhe credit card. For the way back, I didn't give her a copy and just assumed that it would be ok since she already completed the first flight of the return ticket. They didn't ask her for any proof, just as they never ask me for proof when I travel back here on an e-ticket. They only ever check the cc when you take the first flight out. HTH

Yes and it is a PITA. I purchased tickets for my kids to fly here from Australia and they needed to have my credit card because I had purchased the tickets, even though I said when booking the tickets that their passports would be the documentation provided. I had to get them a photocopy of both sides of my credit card with a letter of authority and a photocopy of my passport with a matching signature or they were told they would not be allowed to board the plane. It wasnt an issue of security with me, but if I was giving it to my maid I would cover up the three security numbers on the back of your card.
