Our dc was at the school for 2 years. We made a quick exit strategy and left for UK because of the curriculum and lack of ecas. The way we looked it at it was the school fees are like for like but the provisions are not. They do not teach to the same standards as a UK independent school and we are in a position to say so seeing what our child is doing now in a leading UK prep school. The issues are with ownership and that khda do not recognise 11 plus or iseb. Having said all of this my child was very happy at the school, we just felt that the fees in the end were not acceptable for the experience he was getting. It is a personal decision and the above was our experience.

And they have been promising the swimming pool since they opened a few years ago - what is taking so long? Is that a finance problem? Because with the amount of fees people pay, you'd think they'd have the money to fix the pool! Maybe they are using that money to finance another new school! True, and they refused discounts on the school fees, as parents were complaining that all facilities weren't in place that were promised and would justify the high school fee.

I wouldn't say swimming pool is a deal breaker, but this is a very expensive school and then I would like it to be top education AND facilities, which you can get in other schools. Look at Nord Anglia, Repton or DBS Jumeirah Park, depending on where you will be living and working.

I wouldn't trust anyone promising to deliver a swimming pool in 6 months when the work have not even started. . Our school promised similar time scale for their swimming pool and was able to open it only in 3 years due to all the permissions and other municipality approvals and what not. Having said that, I won't consider swimming pool as a deal breaker. You should be looking at other things important to you before going ahead. Trust your gut feeling.

Hello all. We are relocating to Dubai in Jan 2017 and have been visiting schools for our children Would love some input from Foremarke parents on the forum. We visited Foremarke and loved it. Both our children are registered to move to boarding school in the UK at 11+ and we felt that taking that into account, Foremarke was the closest we could find to a British prep school outside of the UK. They did however promise a lot of things and I was wondering if anyone knew on how good the school was on delivering on those promises so that we can align our expectations accordingly. To begin with they did say that their swimming pool would be ready by March 2017. It didn't look like the build had even begun but as I am new to dubai and dont know the speed at which things are built.. I thought it would be best to ask.. would that be realistic. They also mentioned that since most of the children in their school either go back to UK - many to boarding schools - they will (I say will because they will have their first year 6 group in 2016-2017) focus on tools like mock interviews, pre-tests for entrance exams etc. to supplement the curriculum. They even mentioned a counselor at some point to help children with this .Does anyone have any experience or seen this happen? Sport - how sporty is it? Apart from the swimming pool - it seemed like all other facilities were up and running but due to the newness of the school - We thought perhaps it isn't as competitive in sports especially with other schools and is still finding its ground.. Any input on any or all of the above points will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
