The beginning of Eid will officially be announced on Thursday evening as it is dependent on the sighting of the moon. Unfortunately workers in the public sector might not receive an extra day off as Eid falls on a weekend this year.

Eid al Fitr celebrates the end of Ramadan and is usually spent with friends and family enjoying breakfast and lunch together. Normally Eid al Fitr is celebrated for either two or three days by both the private and the public sector. The private sector holidays have not yet been announced for the UAE.
