New Heart Sculpture in Downtown Dubai

A new heart-shaped sculpture has been unveiled outside The Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai.

The sculpture, called 'LOVE ME', can be found outside Jones The Grocer and is a work of art created by master sculptor Richard Hudson.

It's a three-dimensional, mirrored-steel heart sculpture that first appeared in February in 2018 to visitors to The Dubai Mall, but for 2019 it has been recreated... And is much bigger, and better.

At a height of five metres and equally ide, 'LOVE ME' is 3.8 metres deep and weighs over 7,000kg.

Described by Hudson himself as 'all-encompassing in its symbolism of love and peace - and an icon image that crosses all boundaries', which resonates with people from all walks of life.

It's so big that it had to be transported in multiple pieces, and assembled on-site. It has been carefully positioned to reflect the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, in its mirrored steel surface.

It's not the only heart sculpture that Richard Hudson has in his portfolio - a similar sculpture can be found in Taiwan and California. He also has various other designs across Europe, the Americans and Asia and has even curated private collections for the likes of Sir Elton John and Michael Douglas.
