When it comes to your oral hygiene, do you know just how much your toothbrush can impact your health? Experts from ConfiDent Dubai Palm explain...

It is well known that oral hygiene is the key element to keep the teeth healthy, and to maintain safe dental treatments... So, here is our question – Do you really know which toothbrush is the best and the safest one for you?

As part of her master`s dissertation, Dr. Nicolle our Brazilian Dentist has recently published a systematic review that brought out the question of which are the characteristics in a toothbrush to consider it safe to use and effective for dental plaque removal.

The conclusion of Dr. Nicolle`s study was that soft and extra-soft toothbrushes, with both rounded and tapered bristles, are considered to be safe and effective. Medium and hard toothbrushes are not recommended, given that they were linked to adverse oral soft tissue effects, such as gingival abrasion.

ConfiDent Palm Dentists recommend daily oral hygiene consisting of brushing your teeth at least 2 times per day, floss every day and use a soft or extra-soft toothbrush to avoid oral soft tissues injuries during toothbrushing.
