Changed Service Timings and Free Parking on Sunday

A long weekend is coming up and to help ease congestion while everyone makes the most of their day off, the RTA have announced some changes to their services.

On April 23rd, all paid parking zones will be FREE of charge for Israa and Miraj.

There are exceptions: multi-level parking lots and the Fish Market parking area in Deira will not be included. Additionally, all customer RTA service centres will be closed during the holiday, and work will resume on Monday.

For both the public and private sectors, Sunday was announced an official holiday last week, with work resuming on April 24th. Those companies who only have one day weekends, they will enjoy Saturday off.

There will also be changes to public transport, with service centres and timings temporarily changed.

In a recent statement, the RTA said "all centers affiliated to service providers will be closed on Saturday, April 22, and will resume service on Sunday, April 23."

Which means if you need to visit a centre in person, it's best to wait until Monday!

Express Dubai Metro services will continue as normal.

The Dubai Tram will also be in service on Sunday from 6.30am to 1am in the early hours of Monday morning.

For anyone who frequently uses Dubai's public buses, the changes are as follows on Sunday:

  • Main bus stations will operate from 4.25am to 12 midnight
  • Al Ghubaiba Station and Al Qusais Station will operate from 4.30am to 12 midnight
  • Sub-stations will start at 4.57am to 11.35pm; except Route C01, which operates around-the-clock
  • Al Quoz Industrial Station will operate from 5am to 11.30pm
  • Jebel Ali Station will open at 5am and end 12 midnight
